Santa Fe is Spanish for "Holy Faith" making it the perfect destination for a short American Pilgrimage. Visit the Loretto Chapel, a former Roman Catholic church that is now a museum. Here you will see the Miraculous Stairway, whose construction the Sisters of Loretto attribute to the work of St. Joseph. In Chimayo, located west of the Sangre de Cristo ("Blood of Christ") Mountains, see the Shrine of Our Lord of Esquipulas. This Shrine is also referred to as the "Lourdes of America" because pilgrims have reported healings from the Holy Dirt here.
