Itinerary
Day 1: Depart for Dublin
Depart from your hometown for your overnight flight(s) to Ireland. Meals will be served on board.
Day 2: Arrive in Dublin
Cead Mile Failte – Welcome to Ireland! Upon arrival into Dublin, collect your luggage, pass through passport and custom control, then walk to the arrivals’ hall where you will meet your tour guide, and, or driver. Depending on your arrival time, check into your hotel. It’s possible that your room will not be available until the afternoon. We will begin our adventure with a panoramic tour of the city on both sides of the River Liffey, where we pass by Phoenix Park, the largest city park in Europe. On the other side of the river are Georgian squares characterized by colorful doors, and Trinity College, the oldest university in Ireland. It was founded in 1592 by Elizabeth I. Visit to Trinity College with its famous manuscripts, among which is the famous illuminated Gospel manuscript: “the Book of Kells”. We will celebrate Mass followed by dinner and overnight in Dublin.
Day 3: Dublin – Boyne Valley – Monasterboice – Armagh
Enjoy a full Irish breakfast in hotel. Depart Dublin and travel northwards through the historic Boyne Valley region. Drive to Drogheda and celebrate Mass at St Peters Church in Drogheda. Visit the historic ruins at Monasterboice, an early Christian settlement in Co Louth, founded in the late 5th century by Saint Buithe. The site is most famous for its 10th century high crosses. Muiredach’s High Cross is regarded as the finest high cross in Ireland. Continue to Armagh, the spiritual capital of Ireland for 1,500 years and the seat of both Protestant and Catholic archbishops. St Patrick called Armagh “my sweet hill” and built his stone church on the hill where the Anglican Cathedral now stands. Enjoy a guided tour of Armagh. Check in at the Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Armagh – Downpatrick – Armagh
Following breakfast, travel eastwards through St Patrick’s country to the historic town of Downpatrick. Visit the traditional burial place of St Patrick at Down’s Anglican Cathedral. Afternoon, return to Armagh for a visit to St Patrick’s Anglican Cathedral and walk part of the St. Patrick’s Way. Continue onwards to visit St Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral for a guided tour. Celebrate Mass at St Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral. Return to Hotel for overnight.
Day 5: Armagh – Belfast – Giants Causeway – Derry
After breakfast, drive to Belfast. Panoramic Tour of Belfast city, passing City Hall, Stormont, Falls Road, Shankill Road, and the famous murals, featuring the image of Bobby Sands and his comrades. Visit to the Titanic Experience, this is the location where the Titanic was designed, built, and launched. Titanic Belfast tells the story of Titanic from her conception, through her construction and launch, to her maiden voyage and subsequent place in history. Travel northwards to the Antrim Coast and visit the “Giants Causeway” which is almost 60 million years in the making. Find out how the world-famous hexagonal basalt stones were formed and discover the legend of the giant who made the causeway. Onwards to Derry for a walking tour of the Walls of Derry. Celebrate Mass in Derry. Check in to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Derry – Sligo – Knock – Westport
Following breakfast, depart Derry and travel southwards through Co. Donegal and onwards to Sligo. Here, you will see the beautiful scenery that inspired Irish Poet W.B Yeats. Continue to Ireland’s National Marian Shrine in Knock. Visit to Knock Museum. Celebrate Mass at the Church of the Apparition in Knock. Free time for private prayer and meditation. Continue to Westport and check in to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Westport - Ballinubber Abbey - Connemara - Galway
Enjoy a hearty full Irish Breakfast. Travel to Ballintubber Abbey for a visit, the Abbey is dedicated to St Patrick, the Virgin Mary and St John the Apostle. This is the beginning and ending point for pilgrims travelling the old pilgrimage road to Croagh Patrick. Celebrate Mass at Ballintubber Abbey. After Mass, proceed to Croagh Patrick, a mountain considered sacred for almost 5,000 years. Afternoon, visit Connemara, the country of the Quiet Man, the famous film made in this region. Connemara is a land of lakes and rivers, bogs and mountains. It is the land of small villages, where Gaelic is still the spoken language. Check in to the Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Galway - Aran Islands - Galway
After a good Full Irish Breakfast. This day we take a full day tour of the Aran Islands. We visit Inis Mor which is the largest of the three Aran Islands. This is the Island of the saints and scholars. Take the ferry from Rossaveal to Kilronan. Minibus tour of Inis Mor. Visit to Dun Aonghasa Fort – a stone fort on the very western edge of Europe. This is one of the most romantic spots in Ireland. Dun Aonghasa was created out of the stone and mystery of Ireland. It lies on Inis Mor, at the edge of a 100-metre-high cliff. Celebrate Mass en route. Later in the afternoon, return to Rossaveal by ferry where the coach will be waiting to bring you back to the hotel for dinner and overnight
Day 9: Galway - Cliffs Of Moher - Galway
Enjoy a full Irish breakfast, before bidding farewell to Galway. Celebrate Mass in Oranmore. Travel along the southern shores of Galway Bay to the strange countryside with is known as the Burren, with its lunar appearance. Visit to the Cliffs of Moher and the Atlantic Edge Visitor experience. The cliffs of Moher rise up to 390 feet above the Atlantic Ocean and allure their many visitors with their beauty. Drive southwards to Ennis and onwards to Bunratty. Visit to Bunratty Castle and folk Park. This evening, attend Mediaeval Banquet at Bunratty Castle Check in at hotel in the region for overnight.
Day 10: Limerick - Clonmacnoise - Dublin
After breakfast, travel in the direction of Clonmacnoise. Visit to the ancient monastic site at Clonmacnoise, which is Ireland’s most important monastic site, overlooking the River Shannon. This site was founded by St. Ciaran in the 6th-century and consists of a grass field containing numerous early churches, high crosses, round towers, and graves. Celebrate Mass at the open-air oratory at Clonmacnoise. Enjoy a cruise up the River Shannon to Lough Ree in a replica Viking Ship. Opportunity to stop at Seans Bar in Athlone for an Irish Coffee Demonstration and Tasting. Continue through the central plain of Ireland to Dublin and check in for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Dublin
Morning, celebrate Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the shrine of Venerable Matt Talbott. Free time for private sightseeing or shopping. Mid-afternoon, visit the famous Guinness Storehouse. Guinness Storehouse contains seven unforgettable floors of sights, sounds and sensations in a building what has been brewing beer for over 250 years. Enjoy a pint of Guinness at the end of the tour with panoramic views over Dublin City. Farewell dinner and Irish entertainment at the Merry Ploughboy Pub. Return to Hotel for overnight.
Day 12: Depart Dublin
Transfer to Dublin Airport for flight check-in and departure.
