Enjoy your delicious creations for lunch. The afternoon is free to explore the picturesque towns of Positano, Ravello, or the town of Amalfi itself, with its charming shops and stunning views. Overnight.

Day 4 | Thursday, September 24: Sorrento – Capri - Sorrento

After breakfast, depart to Capri. Embark on a breathtaking journey from Sorrento to the enchanting island of Capri. This excursion includes a scenic boat ride across the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Naples, offering panoramic views of the coastline. Upon arrival at Marina Grande, explore Capri’s iconic sites such as the Blue Grotto , the Faraglioni rock formations, and the charming Piazzetta. Enjoy free time for shopping, relaxing at seaside cafés, or swimming in crystal-clear coves before returning to Sorrento. Overnight.

Day 5 | Friday, September 25: Sorrento

After breakfast, board your motorcoach to Pompeii, the famous ancient city buried by the ashes of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. You will walk through one of the most important and interesting archeological museums in the world. This is a preserved site of excavated ruins of streets and homes that pilgrims can freely explore. Visit the Shrine of the Rosary of Pompei “La Madonna Del Rosario”, one of the most visited Catholic Shrines. The painting of “Our Lady of the Rosary” with its bronze gilt frame is presented to the pilgrims on the high altar. The venerated painting depicts the Virgin Mary and Child Jesus presenting the Rosary to Saint Dominic and Saint Catherine of Siena. Inside the shrine, there are also two very important relics belonging to the Passion of Christ; a thorn from the Crown of Thorns and a small piece of the Holy Cross. After our spiritual and historical journey through Pompeii, we will make our way to Naples, a vibrant and historic city on the coast of Italy and the birthplace of pizza. In Naples, we will enjoy a cooking class where we will learn to make our very own authentic Neapolitan pizza. Return to Sorrento for overnight.

Day 6 | Saturday, September 26: Sorrento / Bari

After breakfast, travel to the historic port city of Bari. Begin your visit with a Mass at the Basilica of San Nicola, where the relics of Saint Nicholas (the inspiration for Santa Claus) are enshrined in the crypt. The basilica is a major pilgrimage site for both Catholics and Orthodox Christians. Enjoy a final hands-on cooking class in Bari, learning to make traditional Pugliese dishes like “orecchiette con le cime di rapa” (little ear pasta with broccoli rabe). Or possibly visit a vineyard. Take a walking tour of Bari’s charming old town, Bari Vecchia, with its labyrinthine streets and bustling fish markets. Overnight in Bari.

Day 7 | Sunday, September 27: Bari / Lanciano / Assisi

After breakfast, you we leave for Assisi. On the way we stop in Lanciano for private Mass at the Convent/Church of Saint Francis built on top of the antique Church of St. Longinus – the site of a Eucharistic Miracle that occurred in the eighth century. At the time of the miracle, there was a Basilian monk, who struggled with the belief in the Real Presence in the Eucharist. During the time of Mass, the monk, with doubt in his voice, said the words of consecration and the bread and wine transformed into physical flesh and blood. Continue our Journey to Assisi where we will have some free time and overnight.

Day 8 | Monday, September 28: Assisi / Cascia / Assisi

After breakfast at your hotel in Assisi, you’ll travel to the nearby town of Cascia, the birthplace of St. Rita. Here, you’ll visit the Sanctuary of Santa Rita, a major pilgrimage site where her incorrupt body is preserved. Following your visit to Cascia, you’ll return to Assisi for a free afternoon. You can use this time to explore the charming town, revisit a favorite site, or simply relax. In the evening, you’ll have dinner (on your own) and a peaceful overnight stay in Assisi.

Day 9 | Tuesday, September 29: Assisi

As you visit the birthplace of St. Francis, you will become captivated as the atmosphere has not changed since St. Francis began his ministry, in the early 13th-century. You will start your tour at the St. Francis Basilica, visit his tomb of St. Francis, and have the opportunity to view a series of frescoes depicting his life, along with a few of the saint’s possessions. Followed by a visit to the Santuario Della Spogliazione where Blessed Carlo Acutis’ tomb is placed. Carlo is the first millennial to be declared Blessed who loved the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. From there, you will continue on a walking tour through this picturesque town, including the birthplace of St. Francis, and end with a tour of the Church that honors St. Clare, the foundress of the Poor Clare Sisters. This Saint followed the teachings of St. Francis very closely by also living a life of poverty and humility. Enjoy some free time on your own – you may take this time for additional prayer, shop in the many gift shops, or enjoy a nice lunch. After lunch, you will board the bus, which will take you outside of the walls of Assisi, to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. This is where St. Francis spent most of his life. This Basilica is made up of two structures, both of which you will visit. The first structure is the “Porziuncola”, which is where St. Francis founded his order of the Friar Minor (Franciscans). The second is the “Capella del Transito”, which is the place of St. Francis’ death. During your time here, you will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful Rose Garden where St. Francis and other friars lived, as well as the cave where the Saint retired to pray. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10 | Wednesday, September 30: Assisi - Medjugorje

After breakfast, transfer Rome airport for our flights to Medjugojre. Make your way to Rome airport where you will depart for your afternoon/evening flight to Split, Dubrovnik or Sarajevo. Upon arrival, collect your luggage in the baggage claim area and continue to the arrival hall, where you will be greeted by your driver, who will take you on the 2.5-hour drive to the village of Medjugorje. Enjoy dinner before retiring for the evening.

Days 11 & 12 | Thursday & Friday, October 1 & 2: Experiencing Medjugorje

The most beautiful features of Medjugorje are its simplicity and peace. While in Medjugorje, you may experience your faith grow and will share in the faith journey of pilgrims from all over the world. A local guide will accompany your group throughout your stay in the village.

Some activities that will accompany you in your spiritual journey:

Attend Daily Mass: Each morning at 10:00 AM, your group will assemble at St. James Church for Mass (English-speaking). At the end of each Mass, regardless of language, there is a blessing of religious articles pilgrims can attend.

On Feast Days and Sundays: English Mass is at noon.

Climb Apparition Hill: This mountainous hill is where the visionaries first encountered Our Lady. At the base of this hill is a Blue Cross, where Our Lady appeared to the children while they hid from the communist police in the early days of the alleged apparitions. While climbing, pilgrims are invited to recite the Rosary, pausing five times for each decade of the Rosary. At the top of the hill is the exact location of the first alleged apparition of Our Lady. Enjoy private time for prayer in this Holy place.

Climb Mt. Krizevac (Cross Mountain): In 1933, the villagers built a 30-foot high cross atop the mountain to commemorate Jesus’ passion and death on the cross. You will have the opportunity to climb this mountain and venerate that very cross. While climbing, pilgrims pray the Stations of the Cross to meditate on Jesus’ suffering Road to Calvary, pausing fifteen times for each Station.

Apparitions: Each evening at 5:00 PM (or 6:00 PM, depending on Daylight Savings Time), your group can join the villagers and fellow pilgrims of Medjugorje at either St. James Church or Apparition Hill to commemorate the time Our Lady appears to the Visionaries. There you can pray the Rosary as you all await that time (5:40 PM or 6:40 PM during Daylight Savings Time). Afterward, Croatian Mass is held at St. James Church and is free for all to attend. It is simultaneously broadcasted over the radio to translate the services from Croatian into many languages. Following the Croatian Mass, there is a Blessing of the Sick.

**For details about the Visionaries, please visit: www.206tours.com/visionaries

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: Our Lady has always called us to be close to her Son. In response to her call, pilgrims have the opportunity to adore the Blessed Sacrament at the altar outside of St. James Church. Adoration is on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Veneration of the Cross is on Fridays inside the church. Additionally, there is an Adoration Chapel on the grounds of St. James Church, where Adoration is held in the afternoon.

Prayer at the Statue of the Risen Christ: The bronze statue of the Risen Christ is located on the grounds of St. James Church. Many pilgrims sit and pray on the benches surrounding this peaceful statue. This statue miraculously seeps droplets of water continuously throughout the day out of Christ’s right knee.

Day 13 | Saturday, October 3: Medjugorje - Home

After an early breakfast and heartfelt farewells, we leave by motor coach for Dubrovnik, Split, or Sarajevo Airport for our return flight(s) home.
