Fr. Eric Scanlan Pilgrimages

Father Eric Scanlan is a dedicated Catholic priest in the Diocese of Venice, Florida. His primary responsibilities are serving as Pastor of Incarnation Catholic Church and Chaplain of Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota. A native of Fort Myers, Florida, and the oldest of eleven siblings, he was ordained in 2013 at the Epiphany Cathedral in Venice.

During his time in college, Fr. Scanlan made a pilgrimage to the Marian shrine of Medjugorje. It was this experience that deeply moved him, resulting in a life-altering shift in perspective and a deeper connection with the Catholic Church and Jesus Christ. This significant event led him to consider a path towards priesthood. He credits Eucharistic Adoration and Marian devotion as key influences in his decision-making process.

Fr. Scanlan holds degrees in Marketing and Political Science from the University of Florida. He furthered his education by studying philosophy at the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio, followed by theology at the Gregorian University in Rome. In 2014, he completed a Licentiate (STL) in Spirituality from the Teresianum in Rome.

Passionate about the Catholic faith, Fr. Scanlan enjoys sharing its inherent richness and beauty with others. He strongly believes in the faith's capacity to bring about positive changes within society. As a priest, he finds great joy in helping individuals deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. His guiding words are: “It is a great joy to be able to walk with you on pilgrimage to these beautiful and truly inspiring holy places.”
