St. Mary Monastery of Prouilhe

Moniales Dominicaines, Prouilhe, 11270 Fanjeaux, France

About the St. Mary Monastery of Prouilhe:

Our primary place of welcome is liturgical prayer, open to all. We welcome to our guesthouse anyone who wishes to take time for reflection, prayer, study, or renewal in the proximity of a monastic community.

At the source of the Dominican Order, we are happy to welcome brothers, sisters and lay people from all over the world.

Prouilhe is also a place for the diocese and the apostolic region: many groups meet there for a few days or for a day of recollection.

Every year students also take advantage of the serenity of the place to come and prepare for their exams.

Located near one of the routes of Saint James (GR 78), our monastery also welcomes pilgrims, who remind us that life and faith are a path on which the Lord guides us.

The community offers sessions or retreats, and training times organized by the community or its friends:

Iconography workshops led by Father Serge Pescay
Saturdays “Art and Bible” with Anne Chevillard-Maubuisson
Mess’Aje weekends with Jane Lloret and Françoise Vieules

Recently renovated, our hotel has 22 comfortable rooms, each with a private bathroom. It also features a breakfast room, a library, a chapel, two meeting rooms, and a large conference room.

All around, hiking trails and a region rich in history await discovery, starting with the “Dominican holy sites”, marked by the presence of St. Dominic who lived there for almost ten years: Fanjeaux, Montréal, Carcassonne…
