Wellness

ACTIVITIES & DAY TRIPS

We think Wells next the Sea has everything you need for the perfect UK getaway. Norfolk is known for its big skies. There are miles and miles of beautiful coastal walks. The beaches are golden sand and most are dog friendly (there are separate areas that are dog free). There are lots of things to do come rain or shine. There is a bus service into Norwich for a spot of shopping, or there is the Coast Hopper which will take you to other attractions along the coast. Wells itself has many lovely restaurants and cafes. The newly built Maltings has a cinema and art centre.

Birdwatching

Norfolk has many beautiful species of birds. If you fancy a bit of birdwatching, even if you’ve never tried it before, why not join a guided tour with an expert. Birdtours is our local tour provider and if you book a tour via Birdtours they will book your accommodation with us at a preferential rate. Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, the Birdtours guide knows exactly where to look, when to look and can tell you what to look for.

Walking

Bring some comfortable shoes! With miles and miles of unspoilt stunning coastlines, walking the coastal path is a must. Breath-taking scenery awaits.

Paddle Boarding

Stand Up Paddle Board Hire, taster sessions & Guided Tours in
‘burnham Overy Staithe’ & along the North Norfolk Coast’.

Seals

A trip to see the seals is also a great day out.

Stately homes

There are too many to choose from. Sandringham, Blicking Hall and grounds, the list goes on. Perfect for a less than sunny day.

Railway

We love the old fashioned railway from Holt to Sheringham. Stop off at Sheringham Country Park for the scenery and at certain times of year, the Rhododendrons are beautiful.

Day at the beach

Take the dogs, the kids, a picnic (we can supply you with a cool bag) and just enjoy sitting on the beach. Wells beach has an area of water that stays inland and heats up (somewhat) when the sun is out.
There really is an endless list of things to do in and around Wells; these are just a few ideas.

Facilities

Our guest lounge has a bird book library and games, flat screen TV and comfortable leather sofas.
The enclosed garden has a BBQ area, patio, table and chairs.

One parking space is allocated to each room.
We are a couple of minutes’ walk to the harbour, seafront, local pubs and shops.

ACCESSIBILITY

We have 2 ground floor rooms, one single and one twin / double, both with ensuite. Due to the age and layout of the building, it is not possible to widen our doorways for wheelchair users. If you have any physical or mental health support requirement, please contact us before booking and we will try our best to accommodate your needs.

ENVIRONMENT

We don’t use single use plastics in our guest house. We don’t want to contribute to the plastic that is ending up in our seas. We have refillable toiletries in the rooms to save on waste. All our room tea and coffee etc is in glass jars and the milk is contained in a small thermos bottle to keep it chilled and fresh. All our food is locally sourced.
