Sample Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1:
Aug 11 - Depart USA
Board your overnight transatlantic flights from your
home town. Meals are served on board.
Day 2:
Aug 12
Arrival Paris
You’ll be met upon arrival in Paris and transferred to
your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3:
Aug 13
- Paris
Wake up in Paris and depart for mass at Shrine of the
Miraculous Medal. View the incorrupt body of St
Catherine Labouret whose guardian angel led her to the
chapel where the Blessed Virgin displayed a vision of
the miraculous medal and later the green scapular. The
Virgin promised bountiful graces for all who wore these.
Our sightseeing tour includes some of the most beautiful
and important churches in the world such as Notre Dame
Cathedral and Sacre Coeur see the sights as the Eiffel
Tower, L'Arc de Triomphe, and drive through the Champs
Elysees. Enjoy other sights on this mostly panoramic
tour. Return to the hotel for little relaxing, dinner
and overnight.
Day 4:
Aug 14
Paris – Lisieux – Paris
After breakfast we travel northwest by motor coach to
the town of Lisieux, the home of St Therese whom Pope
Pius X called "the greatest saint of modern times." Her
extraordinary love for God and service to humanity come
alive as you visit the Basilica Cathedral of St Peter,
and Les Buissonets, her family home. On display are
relics, clothing, and personal objects belonging to the
"little flower." View the statue depicting the Virgin
Mary who smiled at St Therese during an ecstacy before
curing her illness. Combine your prayers in the Carmel
Chapel with those of the Carmelite sisters, just as St
Therese did before her death in 1897. Return to Paris
for dinner and overnight.
Day 5:
Aug
15 Paris – Madrid
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Paris airport
for your flight to Madrid, and where your Pre World
Youth Day tour will end. We arrive in Madrid and transfer to our hotel. Welcome
dinner is served tonight at our hotel before the opening
ceremonies. Opening ceremonies sight to be announced.
“Optional Tours” available in Madrid prior to attending
World Youth Day.
Day 6 - 9: Aug
16 - 19
After breakfast each day we will participate in the
World Youth Day Programs and activities schedule.
Overnight at your hotel.
Day 10:
Aug 20
World Youth Day activities today and tonight is the
World Youth Day Vigil and Closing Mass officiated by His
Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI.
Day 11:
Aug 21
The World Youth Day 2011 celebration comes to an end
today with Mass with The Holy Father. Afterwards we
retire to our hotel to rest up before departure.
Day 12: Aug
22
Breakfast this morning at our hotel before transfer to
Madrid airport for flights home.

Avila with Lunch
We begin our day with a drive to Avila, walled city, the
birthplace of St. Teresa of Jesus, the Church's greatest
and most influential mystic. Visit the Cathedral and
the Convent of the Incarnation (Mass), where St. Teresa
lived for three decades and St. John of the Cross, her
spiritual director and confessor lived for the last two
years of her life. Lunch included in Avila.

Toledo
Toledo is
where St. John of the Cross spent much of his life and
the Middle Age Christian, Jewish and Moorish cultures co
- existed for many years. See this spectacular imperial
city, residence Alcazar, the 13th century Synagogue and
the Gothic Cathedral

Flamenco and Spanish Dancing
Enjoy an evening of flamenco dance at the famous Torres
Bermejas Night Club and experience the exciting night
life of Madrid.

Escorial Monastery
San Lorenzo de El Escorial is more than the mausoleum of
the Spanish monarchs;
it is a palace and monastery complex. Located in the
town of El Escorial, about 41kms. to the northwest of
Madrid's center, the palace/monastery is well worth the
visit.
