World Youth Day - Terms & Conditions


PAYMENT SCHEDULE

Payments for this pilgrimage can be done at your own leisure. However, there will be three (3) Checkpoints that must be followed.

Check Point # 1: First Non-Refundable Deposit Due (Due Date: Upon Registration) Your Account must reflect a non-refundable Deposit of $500 Per Person

Check Point # 2: Second Non-Refundable Deposit of $1,000 is Due (Due Date: One Year Prior to Departure) If you registered before one (1) year prior to departure: Make payments on your own schedule – so that payments made meets/exceeds $1,500 Per Person If you register within one (1) year prior to departure: A Deposit of $1,500 per person is due at the time of Registration.

Check Point # 3: Full Payments are Due (Due Date: 90 Days Prior to Departure) If Registering within 90 Days prior to departure, a Non-Refundable Full Payment will be due upon Registration)

OFFICAL WORLD YOUTH DAY REGISTRATION

206 Tours World Youth Day Packages will include your official World Youth Day registration. The World Youth Day office will provide you with a registration packet. Any other information on how to register your group for World Youth Day may be obtained from the World Youth Day Office at the United States.

FORM OF PAYMENT

Bank/Certified/Travelers Checks, Money Orders, ACH (check by phone) or Wire Transfers (please fax a copy of bank confirmation when wiring funds) are accepted forms of payment at any time. Personal checks are acceptable if received more than 60 days prior to the departure date. 206 Tours accepts PayPal payments (send to: sales@206tours.com). You may by credit card directly to 206 Tours to 206 Tours (American Express, Discover, Visa, and Master Card). In order to speed up the processing of deposits and final payments, please note the departure date on the deposit and balance of payment checks. Every reservation must be accompanied by a signed application. Returned checks will incur a $50 service fee. In case of computer or human billing error, we reserve the right to re-invoice participants with corrected billing.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All payments are Non-Refundable, and cancellations must received in writing. Full payments are due 90 days prior to departure. All payments made at the time of cancellation are Non-Refundable No change of names or substitutions are permitted in place of a cancellation. No refund or cancellation fees will be waived due to death or sickness. In the event you must cancel, cancellations must be received in writing (mail, fax, or email). Phone calls cannot be used as a form of cancellation.

YOUNG TRAVELERS

Travelers who are over 15 years old, but less than 18 years old, on the departure date must be accompanied by an adult. Due to heightened security, many countries have adopted practices to prevent international abductions of children. If a child will be traveling with adults other than the parents or with only one parent, this form must be completed and returned prior to 90 days before departure www.206tours.com/waiver/minor/waiver.pdf We also require that a notarized letter be written by the parents or non-traveling parent granting authorization to include travel dates. We also suggest that you contact the appropriate consulate and airlines because they may have additional requirements.

The following hospitals in Lisbon will be open around-the-clock, 24/7, for any and all Emergencies. Note: They are listed based on proximity, and the first one closest one to where the World Youth Day events will be taking place, and accommodations:

As imposed to 911, the Emergency Numbers in Lisbon are as follows:

*All Numbers are Toll Free – and will be included in every “Know Before You Go” booklet that each pilgrim will receive approximately 60 days before departure.

PRICE GUARANTEE

We can only guarantee prices when, and if, all payments are made in accordance with the “Deposit and Payment Plan” (noted above) and the trip is paid in full. Rates shown on the website are based on double or twin occupancy and are as per each program’s inclusions show. All prices are shown in U.S. Dollars and are calculated on currency rates and fares in existence at the time the proposal was confirmed. 206 Tours reserves the right to alter prices at any time prior to departure, and without prior notice, if circumstances so warrant. Any devaluation or revaluation of currencies may affect the published prices.

NOT INCLUDED

Items of a personal nature (such as telephone calls, laundry, snacks, and beverages are not included and not on regular d'hote menu). You will be responsible for the payment and supply of these items. Travel Insurance , portage at airports, excess baggage fees and passport or visa fees are not included in the price. Airport taxes are NOT included in our tour packages unless indicated.

PASSPORTS, VISAS & TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

A valid US passport is required for travel for US citizens. If you do not have a valid passport please contact your closest passport office or see Passport Information.. Passports must be valid at least 6 months after return date. US or Canadian citizens do not need to obtain visas for most countries 206 Tours services. For all other nationalities please consult the country of travel's consulate. When and if visa is required it is passenger’s responsibility to obtain one. Cancellations due to lack of appropriate travel documents will incur usual penalties.

FINAL DOCUMENTS

Final documents are issued upon receipt of final payment only and within 3 weeks of departure. Documents are not guaranteed if the final payment is not received on time. Upon receipt of your documents, you are responsible to check your itinerary, spelling of your name, dates, times, and other important information to insure their validity. Should your final documents have any errors it is the passenger’s responsibility to contact 206 Tours immediately.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We highly recommend a travel insurance plan https://www.206tours.com/insurance trip investment. Once purchased, the premium is non-refundable. To ensure the preexisting medical condition, is covered, you need to pay for it at the time of registration, or within 21 days of the initial trip deposit. Without preexisting coverage, protection can be purchased up to 72 business hours prior to trip departure. Available to all with US residence.

ASSIGNMENT OF BENEFITS: In the event of any trip interruption such as airline delay or cancellation, where 206 Tours paid for any additional service that is later reimbursed by the travel protection plan (e.g. airline, hotel, transfer), you agree to assign any of those payable benefits to 206 Tours, up to the total payment made by 206 Tours.

Flights / Airfares / Airline Reservations

By using 206 Tours, you agree that 206 Tours, in purchasing and arranging your flights, is acting only as your agent with air carriers, who are independent contractors. Your airline ticket purchased through 206 Tours constitutes a contract between yourself and the airline. You agree that 206 Tours is not liable for, and does not assume any responsibility with regard to: airline flight cancellations, schedule changes, delays, aircraft changes, seat map changes, seat assignments / reassignments, name changes, missed connections, claims for a refund or reimbursement of new airline ticket fees, missing days from tour, or any other loss or expense incurred by you for any reason whatsoever. Should you be affected, by flight changes, in any way, on day of departure or after departure, you agree to work with airlines directly, to rebook you on the next available flight, if needed to arrange for your lodging and meals.
We strongly recommend “Travel Protection”. Be sure to save all receipts.
Air transportation is in economy class, or business class (additional) on IATA-approved carriers.
Business-class is available at additional cost, for the Trans-Atlantic portions of your ticket. If you make changes, airfare is subject to change. For any issues which arise in relation to airline service complaints and compensation should be addressed to the specific carrier. Airport taxes are included in our tour packages. Airport taxes are based on departure city and government fees (airport taxes include Federal Inspection Fees for the U.S. Customs and Immigration; International Air Transportation Tax; Agricultural tax; security fees, and other airport-related taxes).

SEAT ASSIGNMENT

Random seats are assigned for all. If you would like a specific seat, or to sit with a companion, please advise at the time of booking, we will make every effort and will provide you with the desired seat number, however, we cannot guarantee, as seats are at the discretion and are subject to airline changing aircraft and it’s seat map. We recommend that you be at the airport early on to ask for a preferred seat assignment.

SERVICES NOT ARRANGED BY 206 TOURS

If you chose to purchase a Land Only package and arrange your own domestic or international flight independently of us, be advised that 206 Tours is not responsible for domestic or international flights or transfers of any kind. Booked or purchased items outside of 206 Tours are sole responsibility of client.

TRANSFERS

Our programs include group round-trip transfers. Pilgrims or passengers who purchased land only package and are arriving or leaving independently must transfer at their own expense. Expenses incurred for transfers due to lateness of flights are at the expense of the passenger and may be claimed for reimbursement from the airlines. No smoking is allowed on motor coach.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Accommodations are based on twin-bedded or double rooms. 206 Tours reserves the right to substitute similar category accommodation without prior notice. In some accommodation, triple accommodation is possible, however, no reduction in cost is available for triple rooms.

ROOMS

The rooms that will be utilized by your group will have two (three or four) beds per room. If passengers are traveling alone and wish to have 206 Tours assign a roommate, we will room them accordingly (Female with Female, Male with Male.)

MEALS

All meal inclusions are supplied by the World Youth Day Counsel, and as listed in your "Your Trip Includes" section for each group. In case you chose not to have a meal, there is no refund for unused meals. Lunches are included, and are redeemable at the “World Youth Day” event. If you are touring that day, or are not near the designated “Lunch Area”, lunch will be at your own expense. Although we cannot guarantee, we will try and accommodate each special meal request on flights as well as at hotels. Please advise of such a request at the time of booking. We cannot guarantee that special meal/diet requests can be met.

BAGGAGE

Each tour participant is permitted to bring one checked suitcase, one small carry-on bag (8" x 14" x 22"), and one personal item (i.e. purse, laptop case). In general, the airlines permit 1 checked bag weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and maximum dimensions of 62 in (158 cm) calculated by adding the length + the width + the height of the bag. Please check with your specific airline to verify the size and weight allowances. 206 Tours is not responsible for the loss of, theft of, delay, or damage to a participant's belongings.

PARTICIPATION

206 Tours and suppliers contracted for services reserve the right to refuse to accept or retain any person whose behavior is deemed likely to affect the smooth operations of a tour, or adversely affect the enjoyment or safety of other passengers. 206 Tours, its agents, and suppliers shall be under no liability to any such person for refund, compensation, repatriation or any other matters arising."

RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE

206 Tours acts as a tour operator.

The suppliers providing air or ground transportation, sightseeing arrangements and hotel accommodations for the tour program are not 206 Tours employees. By utilizing 206 Tours service you agree that 206 Tours, its employees, officers, agents will not be liable for any change in flight or itinerary schedule, strikes, delay, acts of governments, fires, riots, theft, pilferage, epidemics, quarantine, medical or customs regulations, accident, loss, injury, or damage to you or to those traveling with you in connection with any accommodations, transportation or any other services or resulting directly or indirectly from any occurrence or conditions beyond its control, including defects in vehicles, breakdown in equipment, thefts, delay or cancellation of, or changes in itinerary for any act, omission, or event during the time you are on tour, or on board the aircraft. Neither 206 Tours and/or agents of the suppliers concerned are to be held responsible for the late arrival or departure on return of passengers at airports or hotels due to inclement weather or other reasons, nor are we to be held liable for payment or any refund for transfers or unused service, hotel accommodations or meals occasioned by such late arrivals at the hotels holding rooms as confirmed itineraries. Passengers must bear all such losses or expenses. To guard against unforeseen health or other circumstances, we recommend you purchase insurance. 206 Tours is not responsible for circumstances beyond its control. In circumstances where trip cancellations resulting from the inability for trip to depart or operate as scheduled, such as cancellations due to acts of war and/or terrorism, war, force majeure, act of God, civil unrest, illness, disease, criminal or terrorist acts of any kind, or if natural disaster takes place, 206 Tours, its employees and agents, are not liable for any restitution, and in addition, without limitation are not responsible for any injury, financial or physical loss, death, inconveniences, traumas, or damages with connection to any inclusions other provisions of any goods of services included.

There are inherent risks in travel as our tours go at times through remote locations, far from medical facilities. 206 Tours guests are to assume all associated risks and complete responsibility, including illness, injury or even death by participating. You agree to indemnify and hold 206 Tours harmless, with respect to any claim made to 206 Tours by anyone else which related to your participation.

Assigned priest, guest speaker, group leader or tour guide.
In the rare event that the assigned a spiritual director, guest speaker, group leader or tour guide can no longer attend, your reservation will remain unchanged and you agree to travel as per our terms.

SPECIAL MEDICAL CONDITIONS THOSE WHO NEED SPECIAL ASSISTANCE

You must report any disability requiring special attention to 206 Tours at the time of registration. We regret that we cannot provide individual assistance to any tour participant for walking, dining, while in their room, on flight, getting on and off motor coaches and other vehicles, or other personal needs. A qualified and physically able companion(s) must accompany passengers who need special assistance. It is the Traveler’s responsibility to arrange for such assistance prior to making their reservations. We will make an effort to accommodate disabled passengers by reserving wheelchair assistance at airports and handicap accessible rooms where available, however, we cannot guarantee and are not responsible for any denial of services by carriers, hotels, restaurants, or other independent suppliers. Be aware that our tours are operated outside the U.S. where the Americans with Disabilities Act is not applicable and facilities for disabled individuals are limited. The touring motor coaches are not equipped with wheelchair ramps or lifts. Motorized scooters are unsuitable and impossible to accommodate. 206 Tours is not responsible for any medical condition that occurs prior, during or after the tour. A pregnant woman is advised not to travel after 6 months of pregnancy, we recommend bringing a companion; note that level of comfort may be adversely affected by long flights, layovers, or long bus rides through remote locations.

SAFETY

Please be aware that during your participation on tours operated by 206 Tours, certain risks and dangers may arise beyond our control including, but not limited to, the hazards of in undeveloped areas; by boat, train, automobile, aircraft or other means of transportation; the forces of nature, political unrest and accident or illness in remote regions without means of rapid evacuation or medical facilities. 206 Tours does not have liability regarding provisions of medical care or the adequacy of any care that may be rendered. 206 Tours is not responsible for compensation for cities/sites omitted from the itinerary due to circumstances beyond its control.

PHYSICALITY OF OUR TOURS

Please note that almost all destinations serviced by 206 Tours require physical fitness and a lot of walking, sometimes up/or down the hills and at times very rough terrain. You may certainly stay behind for certain parts of the journey, however, it is suggested that 3 to 4 weeks before your departure one should begin preparing physically begin walking "briskly" 1-2 times a day; build up to 2-3 miles with no discomfort.

TOUR CANCELLATION BY OPERATOR

Be clearly advised that from time to time a tour departure may be cancelled due to lack of participation. In such case, the operator's sole responsibility is to provide a full refund. 206 Tours in not responsible and does not assume responsibility for any additional costs or any fees relating to the issuance and /or cancellation of air tickets or other arrangements not made through 206 Tours. Cancellations due to state advisories and/or state warnings, Acts of War, War, Terrorism, Acts of God, Natural Disaster or any other circumstance outside the control of 206 Tours, are not the fault of 206 Tours. Cancellation for any of these reasons will not be eligible for refund.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY/HOLD HARMLESS:

By accepting the terms and conditions, I agree and acknowledge that I may be giving up important legal rights and remedies available to myself, my family, my heirs, successors, and assigns. For value received, I agree on behalf of myself, my heirs, successors, and assigns (“Our Behalf”) that I assume all risks and waive any claim of liability of any nature whatsoever against, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless, 206 Tours et al. with respect to any and all actions, claims or demands that may be made or brought on Our Behalf against 206 Tours et al. arising out of, or in connection with, travel to, or attendance at the tour or any other activity I may engage in while participating in the tour/event. Further, for value received, for any injury to third parties that may arise because of my own actions or omissions, I agree to indemnify, hold harmless and defend 206 Tours et al. with respect to any and all actions, claims, expenses or demands arising therefrom that may be made or brought against 206 Tours et al., including, but not limited to, reasonable attorneys’ fees and expenses arising in connection therewith.

Nature of Risks:
I understand that voluntarily traveling to, and attending, a tour/pilgrimage at this time may involve certain risks beyond the control of 206 Tours, its officers, directors, volunteers, and agents, in connection with the tour - and all parishes within it, and their respective officers, directors, volunteers and agents, and chaperons or representatives associated with the tour (hereinafter referred to as Diocese et al). Such risks include, but are not limited to, accidents, emergencies, epidemics/pandemics, exposure to reckless conduct of other persons, and/or negligence of security and medical personnel. 206 Tours et al. hereby disclaims any and all liability and responsibility for any such risks. I understand that I will be at various sites, such as hotels, restaurants, tourist sites, or on tourist excursions. If during any break in the tour there may be an opportunity to participate in recreational or other activities, participants do so at their own risk and subject to all terms and conditions set by any recreational or other provider.

COVID-19 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
206 Tours follows all local government rules and requirements. 206 Tours has no control and no authority to overrule, change or amend local government policies. 206 Tours is not liable or responsible for any results, issues, delays or problems encountered during any related process. Noncompliance with these measures will result in not being able to travel or not being able to continue on. Each person voluntarily assumes all risks. Any travel interruption or delay, and related expenses in the event that they or any member of their travelling party requires testing or quarantine, become infected with COVID-19, are at own expense. Guest is required to follow regulatory requirements as per country of visit regulations.

TRAVEL ADVISORIES

It is the responsibility of client / guest / pilgrim to become informed about their destination with most current travel advisories by referring to the U.S. State Department’s travel website at travel.state.gov or by phone at 888 407 4747. In the event of a State Department Travel Advisory against travel to the specific destination location(s) of the trip, should the guest still choose to travel, notwithstanding any travel advisory, the guest assumes all risk of personal injury, death or property damage that may arise out of the events like those advised or warned against as per terms and conditions.

TOUR CANCELLATION AND FORCE MAJEURE EVENT AFFECTING PILGRIMAGE

In the event a pilgrimage is cancelled, postponed, delayed, or rescheduled due to force majeure (i.e. Act of God, State of War, Terrorism, Strike, Pandemic, etc.) or any other condition beyond reasonable control, the purchase will be honored for an equivalent attendance to the next scheduled occurrence of the pilgrimage. The pilgrim will be expected to either attend or transfer to purchase accordingly. No cash refunds will be issued. On rare occasions, a tour departure may be canceled due to a lack of participation. In this event only, 206 Tours will contact you with options. 206 Tours is not responsible and does not assume responsibility for any additional costs or any fees relating to the cancellation of air tickets or other arrangements not made through 206 Tours. Such cancellations are not the fault of 206 Tours. Great efforts will be made to accommodate passengers.

AMENDMENTS

FORUM SELECTION AND CHOICE OF LAW
THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE GOVERNED AND INTERPRETED PURSUANT TO THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE BY MUTUAL AGREEMENT OF THE PARTIES HERETO AND THE FEDERAL AND STATE COURTS IN TENNESSEE SHALL HAVE EXCLUSIVE AND SOLE JURISDICTION OVER ANY DISPUTE, CONTROVERSY OR SUIT ARISING RELATIVE TO THIS AGREEMENT.

DISPUTES/CLASS ACTION WAIVER
YOU AGREE THAT YOU WILL ONLY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST 206 TOURS IN YOUR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS ACTION OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

ERRORS AND OMISSIONS
While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of information on our website or communicated by our staff, errors or omissions are possible and 206 Tours is not responsible for such error. If a mistake is made in billing, we reserve the right to correct the invoice and you will be responsible for proper payment.

206 Tours reserves the right to correct any errors or omissions and to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time as the result of any material changes to legislation or regulation. All amended Terms and Conditions shall automatically be effective upon being posted on our website. Accordingly, all are expected to check the content of relevant tours on our website, and it’s terms and conditions found on https://www.206tours.com/terms prior to booking and prior to travel in order to ensure they are aware of any changes.

If upon returning from your trip, you wish to inquire about any services provided, please ensure that all correspondence is received by email to info@206tours.com, within 30 days of the tour completion date. This will enable us to make a timely investigation.
