Receive Plenary Indulgence in Lourdes during the Jubilee year

(December 8, 2007 to December 8, 2008)

Pope Benedict XVI has attached a special favor to The Jubilee Way, called a “plenary indulgence. It can be obtained under the following  conditions:

You must go to confession

Receive a Holy Communion

Pray for the intentions of the Holy Father “Pause in prayer and meditation for a reasonable amount of time” at the different stages ending with the prayer of

            - the Our Father

            - the apostle’s creed

            - the Jubilée prayer or a Marian prayer.

The four stages to the Path of the Jubilee are:

The parish church where one can see the baptismal font in which Bernadette was baptized.

The abandoned prison, called the « Cachot » where the Soubirous family lived St Micheal’s Gate, the Arches and the Grotto.

The Hospital Oratory where Bernadette made her first Holy Communion in between the 17th and the 18th apparitions.

When the pilgrims arrive to Lourdes we will give them an insignia. They have to bring that insignia to the four different stages where they will receive one sticker per stage. We will also give to them a flyer with the different prayers they have to say at every stage and with the Jubilée prayer.
