Patriarch welcomes Dr. Scott Hahn:

Milanka Lachman, His Beatitude Fouad Twal, Kimberly & Dr. Scott Hahn

Dr. Scott Hahn, famous American Catholic writer, theologian, and apologist, his wife Kimberly and Milanka Lachman, members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher were welcomed by His Beatitude Fouad Twal, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Kimberly Hahn received her Pilgrim Shell from the Patriarch while on pilgrimage with the New York-based 206 Tours from January 4 to 14, 2013.

“It’s a great honour to belong to the Order of the Holy Sepulchre, and to support our brothers and sisters in Christ who live in the Holy land – amidst much suffering and conflict,” a statement posted by Dr. Hahn on Facebook after his wife received the Pilgrim Shell from Patriarch Twal, Grand Prior of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher. Scott and Kimberly Hahn led a 10-day pilgrimage in the Holy Land organized by Milanka Lachman, President of 206 Tours in New York, who has brought many pilgrim groups to the Holy Land for over twenty years.

175 pilgrims (including eight priests) from the United States, England, Canada, Australia and Dubai joined Dr. Hahn. Bishop William Shomali, Auxiliary Bishop of Jerusalem also met with the group and presented the Pilgrim Shells to Msgr. Philip Halfacre of Illinois (North Central Lieutenancy USA) and Msgr. James Swiader of New York (Eastern Lieutenancy).

Dr. Scott Hahn’s conversion journey has touched many lives. He was a Presbyterian minister for several years in congregations of the Presbyterian Church and taught at Chesapeake Theological Seminary. In 1986, he made the leap to enter the Catholic Church, and Mrs. Hahn followed four years later. Dr. Hahn is now a professor and well known speaker in the United States and abroad. He lectures and writes extensively on various subjects relating to Sacred Scripture and the Catholic faith. He is a world-renowned theologian and has published about forty books including Rome Sweet Home and The Lamb’s Supper, Reason to Believe. He is currently a professor of Theology and Scripture at the Franciscan University of Steubenville and President of the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology in the United States.
